The Board Of Directors

The Board of Directors at Northeastern Berks EMS is a volunteer team of individuals that oversee the entire organization.  The board consists of EMS experienced personnel as well as members from our local communities.  The board’s primary objective is to ensure compliance with our financial obligations, Emergency Medical Service regulations, Federal and State regulations, the organization’s operations, and compliance with Organizational By-laws and Conflict of Interest Policy.

Medical Director

The Medical Director is a board-certified physician who ensures the highest quality of patient care as an extension of his medical license our organization operates under.  The Medical Director provides guidance, leadership, oversight, and quality assurance for the practice of our EMTs, Paramedics, and PHRNs.

The Operations Team

The operations team at Northeastern Berks EMS is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations and implementing any directives received from the Board of Directors.  The operations team reports to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis.

Administration & Field Staff

Northeastern Berks EMS’s Administrative team oversees the daily operations and ensure compliance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and beliefs. The administrative team provides monthly updates to the Board of Directors.

The Field Staff at Northeastern Berks EMS consist of Pennsylvania Department of Health Certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Paramedics, and Pre-Hospital Registered Nurses (PHRNs)

ALS Team

The ALS team is comprised of advanced healthcare providers who are trained by and function under the direction of the organization’s medical director.

These paramedics and prehospital registered nurses are the calm and courteous leaders who initiate and continue care during emergency situations.  They may provide cardiac monitoring, IV access, and medication administration to help with our patients’ current health situations.

BLS Team

The BLS team is comprised of basic healthcare providers who are trained to function as emergency providers to help stabilize minor injuries and health concerns.  They are trained to provide immobilization, assess vital signs, and assist the ALS team members with the application of effective advanced care.  They are also responsible for safe transport to the hospital on all ALS calls.

Northeastern Berks EMS commits to ensuring safety at all times, and this includes all the equipment that is utilized within our operations.  Northeastern Berks EMS has established a preventative maintenance program that is overseen by our Chief Mechanic.

Our mission is to provide exceptional pre-hospital medical care and transportation to our patients who are in need of emergency medical services, and provide our community, along with other emergency responders and agencies, the opportunity for emergency medical training at the basic and advanced levels.
